Kris Borchard was a fun-loving woman with an infectious laugh who deeply loved her family, her church and her community. Kris was involved in many aspects of healthcare within the White River Valley – she championed the Rio Blanco Fire Protection and EMS services for 25 years. She gave countless hours of service to her role on the board of directors for Pioneers Medical Center, and she taught EMS certification classes at Colorado Northwest Community College. Kris was a compassionate person; a trait she instilled in others, from her co-workers on the ambulance, to her five children.
Kris always remained true to her calling to serve others and encouraged people to go for their dreams. The Pioneers Healthcare Foundation, in partnership with Kris’ family, is privileged to honor this spirit by offering the Kris Borchard Strive for Excellence Healthcare Scholarship.
This scholarship fund, started in 2011, will support community members who have completed undergraduate work and who are pursuing a graduate degree in a healthcare field.
